Winemaker’s Notes:
“We planted this famous French variety in the late nineties. The Tannat’s famed tannins are demonstrated in this black brooding monster. The Wine was matured for two years using seasoned French and American oak. This tightly structured wine displays a bouquet of black olive, Dutch Liquorice and bramble complemented by hints of violets and spice. The robust palate exhibits black forest fruits, quince, blue damson plum with hints of dried figs and prunes coupled with cedary cigar box, blueberry and rosemary characters. If consumed early, this powerful wine will require lengthy aeration and a rich meat or game dish.” Geoff Johnston.
